I immigrated to Virginia from Romania in 1998. Shortly after my dad purchased a Nintendo 64 and I was enchanted by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Fast forward a few years and I was a total videogame junkie. I had all the consoles my parents could get me, and I feverishly rented new games to try out.
Eventually I discovered anime, and along with my otaku friends I pursued a career in art, initially wanting to be an storybook illustrator. While studying at Virginia Commonwealth University I found a love for biology, and studying the minutia of how things work, and then documenting them in my sketchbook. I got a minor in bio, and worked as a medical illustrator for a while, in the meantime learning how to use Maya and ZBrush to help solve my medical visualization problems.
I'm branching into all sorts of art now, but still maintaining my strong interests in science and storytelling.
That's the brief on my history as an artist, thanks for reading!
