This project was an attempt at creating an accurate, yet artistic depiction of apoptosing cells. Insipartion was taken from SEM imagery of apoptosing cancer cells, with particular attention being given to the fascinating imagery of HeLa cells. The origin of the HeLa cells proved to be an interesting story, and I'd recommend checking it out if you aren't aware of it.
The models were created in ZBrush, and rendered in ZBrush and KeyShot. Compositing and editing was done in Photoshop.
